Credits and Licensing
Aero7 is an independent open-source Linux project. It is not affiliated with, authorized, sponsored, endorsed, or approved by Microsoft Corporation. Windows is a trademark of the Microsoft group of companies.
Project code
The Aero7 installer source is licensed under the MIT License. Aero7-shell and the signed Aero7 applications retain the licenses published by their own repositories and packages.
Platform projects
Aero7 is built with Arch Linux, the Linux kernel, systemd, KDE Plasma, Qt, Cage/wlroots, PipeWire, NetworkManager, SDDM, Plymouth, QEMU, and many other open-source projects. Installed package licenses are available under /usr/share/licenses on the finished system.
Visual components
- the blue installer/Welcome background and code-native installer symbols are
original Aero7 project artwork;
- the main Aero7 marks were supplied by the project owner from AI-generated
source artwork and mechanically prepared for transparent use;
- Adwaita Sans is distributed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1;
- AeroThemePlasma and SMOD-derived frame/control assets retain their upstream
AGPL-3.0 terms;
- Aero7-shell wallpaper and portrait assets retain that project's license;
- PlymouthVista is distributed under the MIT license retained in the source
tree. Aero7 uses project artwork for its logo, reveal, and branding frames.
Redistribution notes
PlymouthVista is used and distributed under its MIT license. Required license files, source offers, and package notices remain included in Aero7.
Unused legacy login and product-branding bitmaps are absent from the current source tree and release image.
